6 Tips for Lead Generation
You’ve set up your LinkedIn business profile, completed all of the fields and set the unique URL. The next step: establish a strategy to effectively leverage LinkedIn’s lead generation potential.
LinkedIn is the ideal format to establish and nurture professional relationships and can be a powerful source for businesses in any industry.
Here, we’ll show you how to make the most of this valuable social platform using various applications and techniques to increase leads for your business.
Tip 1. Add LinkedIn Applications.
The applications area enables you to add interesting apps to your page to improve the experience for users. Easily add blog posts, embed Twitter information, set up polls, or display your creative work via an online portfolio – the options are far and wide.
Tip 2. Use the ‘Answers’ tool.
Ask and answer questions relevant to your industry with LinkedIn Answers. People want to get answers and business advice, so why not give them advice from a leading professional? As an industry insider with helpful knowledge you can provide a valuable service and enhance professional relationships along the way.
Tip 3. Find relevant connections.
Make connections with people from a range of organizations. Simply do a search (in the upper right hand box) for the company you wish to target and click on the company profile. The page should show your direct connection (first connection) and second connections to the company.
In most cases there will be no direct connections, so the best option is to click on the link for second connections to bring up a list of names of people who work there. You will be able to see a list of shared connections. All you have to do is ask your friends to introduce you via LinkedIn.
Tip 4. Join Groups.
Join a number of groups that are in your industry, but go beyond and join those outside your industry sector. Going that next step will enable you to expand your reach, which may help you expand your business. For example, if you’re a nurse don’t just join groups for nurses; try other groups in the health industry that are outside your immediate circle.
Tip 5. Get Mobile.
Download the LinkedIn mobile app on your smartphone. Available for free from the app store, this app is a must have for business owners ‘on the go’. If you’re at an event, tradeshow or client meeting, whenever you’re making contacts, ask prospects to access LinkedIn on their smartphone. If set up correctly you should be able to transfer contacts using Bluetooth, resulting in an instant transfer of information.
Tip 6. Provide Value.
At Exa, we pride ourselves in delivering the best web based products and services to our clients. We understand that our clients are our reputation. View the video below and find out what our clients are saying:
You’ve joined Groups, added applications and have been using the LinkedIn smartphone app. Don’t ruin this effort by shamelessly selling. Social networking should not begin with a hard sales pitch. Add value to prospects by giving information. Share a blog post or article relevant to the industry within the group. When you get a positive response from someone, individually connect with them and build the relationship over time.
