Lakes Entrance Sand Management Program an initiative by the Australian government undertakes activities namely monitoring of sand movements, waves, tides and wind, dredge replacement, trailer suction hopper dredge, sand bypass system, sand transfer station refit, april hamer replacement for improvements to sand management at the Lakes entrance thus aimed at keeping the ocean entrance open.
