Working with Exa to develop our new corporate website has been a fruitful experience. We at New College have a very strong sense of community and it is important to communicate this to our online audience. New College is far more than just a place to live for those studying at the University of New South Wales. The College pursues academic excellence, collegiality and service to society founded upon Christian faith and values. Based on these principles, we build vibrant and close knit communities, strong in academic, sporting, cultural, social and community service activities. The New College website plays a vital part in reaching prospective residents who apply to live in our 250-resident undergraduate community or our 315-resident postgraduate community. The website is also a key aspect of keeping in touch with thousands of our alumni and promoting events and resources produced by New College to the wider community.
Exa’s sales team and web developers clearly understood our goals so we were confident to partner with them on the fairly large task of creating a new corporate website. During the tender process the Exa team addressed every point of the project brief. They explained how they could achieve our goals but also suggested helpfully alternatives. The scoping process was similarly dynamic but structured enough to ensure the project didn’t go over budget. The strong industry experience of the Exa team helped us to achieve better outcomes than we had initially envisaged when it came to navigation, dynamic forms, the online store and donations module, inclusion of multimedia, news and an events/booking system.
Many residents, alumni and friends of the College have let us know how good the new site looks. Their constructive criticism has also been invaluable. Post-launch, Exa have good processes in place to help our own staff manage the website and make structural, functional and visual changes as required. The Exa CMS is easy to use and from time to time the web developers are able to tweak it for our needs.
