With decreasing indigenous populations globally due to the blending of cultures and westernisation, knowledge preservation is essential. The sole purpose of this non-profit organisation is to inform and educate local communities in addition to domestic and international policy makers. Key outputs of the UNU-IAS TKI include research activities, policy studies, and capacity development, as well as information dissemination.
While providing up to date information and news on topics current affairs and events, www.unutki.org also promotes a brand image tightly aligned with its subject. Designed in a style consistent with indigenous traditions, the site creates feelings, associations and experience by using relevant brand elements such as colour, images, fonts, shapes, lines and effects that reflect aboriginal artwork.
Site administrators at the UNU-IAS TKI utilise the sites full Content Management System to change and update site content including text, images, headings, news, articles, bulletins and events. Even the sites banners, flash elements and navigation are self-managed by UNU-IAS Traditional Knowledge Initiative.
