The new A5 dual-core processor and improved graphics processor should provide a real bump in performance.

3) HDMI connection

For some, the opportunity to connect their iPad to a TV may mean very little but for Australians it's a big deal. The first iPad was known as more of a display device but the second version now is recognised for its productivity. You can share images, websites and more with the ability to connect your iPad 2 to a TV screen.

Like the iPhone, Apple's products have great appeal to the Australian audience. The funky, slimline tablet has more than 65,000 applications available on the App Store. And there are still many developers working towards many more Apple products and Apps.

Although $650 is a lot of money for anyone to spend, in comparison to other tablets, the iPad 2 is value for money. Apple will now offer cheaper options. The cost includes all of the features and is the most expensive model available.

6) No Flash

You don't need Flash to have all the essential elements on a tablet. Adobe have even released a Flash-HTML5 conversion tool and it is because the iPad 2 doesn't have Flash that it has a 10 hour battery life.

7) Ahead of competition

Perhaps the most convincing reason to buy an iPad 2 is that you can purchase it before you'll even see its competition. The iPad 2 launched in Australia weeks before the Motorola Xoom and months before the HTC Flyer or Galaxy Tab 10.1.
